IPD 529: Design of Connected Objects
& Experiences

IPD 529: Design of Connected Objects & Experiences was created by Professor Taylor Caputo (Tyler School of Art BFA '13, UPenn Master's in Integrated Product Design '15) and Professor Nicholas McGill (UPenn BSE '14, Master's in Robotics '14) with the intention to offer students' without a technical engineering background an accessible course in electronics and digital fabrication. Open to both undergraduates and graduates student, the class attracts a diverse pool of skillsets in design, engineering, computer science, architecture, and more.

The objective of this course is to introduce students, especially those with a more technical background,  a more conceptual, creative, and meangingful approach to creating functional objects utilizing, analog, digital, and electronics skillsets they have acquired through the core engineering curriclum.

​

This course is typically offered in the fall semester, Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6-7:30pm.
